A 19″ rack cabinet is a standardised frame or enclosure for mounting equipment, each module has a front panel that is 19 inches wide.
Rainford racks, cabinets and electrical enclosures are available in a variety of heights ranging from 1U to 50U and above.
The greater overall depth of a rack cabinet for example 900mm or more vs 800mm or less in a server cabinet allows more space to the front and rear of the cabinet for routing cables, also provides additional space for mounting equipment, enhances cable management as well as airflow indispensable in cooling server cabinets and enclosures.

Rainford Solutions offers a comprehensive range of accessories and ancillaries for all Rainford 19 inch racks, data cabinets, server cabinets and electrical enclosures including: fans, shelving options, plinths, PDUs, aircon units, 19 inch rack mounting fan trays, earth bonding kits / earth bars, baying kits, mounting brackets, blanking panels, brush panels, chassis assemblies and front panels, cable management panels, junction boxes and 1U up to 6U enclosures.
Rainford’s standard cabinet range includes Vanquish® indoor racks and cabinets and Vanguard® outdoor enclosures. Our bespoke enclosures are custom designed by our engineers specifically to your specification and include original design, prototype build and testing.
FTTx (Fibre to the X) – is a collective term used to describe any broadband network architecture that uses optical fibre to provide all or a part of the local loop used for last mile telecommunications.
FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) – involves running fibre-optic cables from a telephone exchange or distribution point to outdoor street cabinets which are then connected to a standard phone line to provide fibre-optic broadband to homes.
FTTH (Fibre to the Home) – is the delivery of a communications signal over optical fibre from the operator’s switching equipment to a home or business, thereby replacing existing copper infrastructure such as telephone wires.
FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) – is a form of fibre-optic communication delivery, an optical fibre is run in an optical distribution network from a central office all the way to the premises occupied by the subscriber.
PDUs (Power Distribution Units) – is a type of electrical component that distributes and manages electricity supply to servers, computers and networking devices.
An IP rated cabinet, also known as Ingress Protection or International Protection ratings are defined to the international standard of EN 60529 (British BS EN 60529:1992), which defines the levels of sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures against intrusion from foreign bodies. It is a 2 digit rating that classifies the degrees of protection against dust, water and impact of electrical equipment and enclosures. Rainford offers a range of high IP rated cabinets from IP54, IP55, IP65 up to IP66.
An EMC enclosure provides a combination of mechanical and electromagnetic protection features, Rainford EMC enclosures and cabinets are designed to meet the EU electromagnetic compatibility regulations for critical equipment. The fully welded stainless steel construction provides protection from harsh outdoor and industrial environments including shock and vibration and lightning.

The fully modular system provides a range of cabinet support modules and AC power distribution and aisle lighting solutions, modular kits enable quick and easy on-site installation and can be configured to meet specific site layouts. Yes, Rainford design and manufacture an extensive range of consoles / console unit including: command and control consoles, floor standing consoles, wall mounted consoles, flat screen consoles, dual display consoles, console desks, console cabinets, training consoles and operator consoles. All consoles are fabricated to the highest standards and are custom made to fit individual monitor sizes and specifications.

Yes, we manufacture seismic cabinets / seismic racks, which have been tested to the requirements of GR-63-CORE Zone 4 standard. The rugged cabinet design has been engineered by Rainford Solutions to perform in areas of high seismic activity and vibration or areas with high load capacities.
No, unfortunately we do not manufacture any GRP enclosures, plastic cases or plastic wall boxes.
