Tracksafe Cabinet – Manufactured to NR/L2/SIG/19820/K02

The Rainford Solutions Tracksafe Cabinet is a specialised cabinet designed to provide secure and reliable storage for trackside signalling and communication equipment in railway environments, featuring LEMUR-AG15 technology that has been developed to resolve the challenges of over-heating assets. These cabinets are engineered to withstand the demanding conditions found along rail networks, including exposure to harsh weather and vibrations from passing trains.

Tracksafe Cabinet – Product Life Cost

All equipment, even cables and relays will operate longer and more reliably in the relatively cool and stable operating environment provided by the Tracksafe Cabinet. Therefore, maintenance and repair costs will be greatly reduced over a prolonged period, saving thousands of pounds.

The passive thermal management ensuring the mean time between failures of the equipment within it is significantly improved. This will then improve the performance of the operational railway.

  • Costs: The REB will always win this argument until you have to pay for the REB. The environment between the current location case and an air-conditioned REB are worlds apart but so are the costs. The Tracksafe cabinet brings the operating environment much closer to that of an existing REB.
  • Cooling: An REB with forced air cooling is not as good as a Tracksafe Cabinet with passive thermal management. Most equipment does not need an air-conditioned, stable 20oC. With a significantly improved security rating overall, the outer case of the Tracksafe Cabinet can be removed and replaced in sections without interrupting the functionality of the equipment it contains, if required.
  • Reliability: The Tracksafe Cabinet will offer long-term benefits and reliability, which will then improve the performance of the operational railway. In most cases, the cost of the air-con, REB and increased maintenance will be more than the increase in costs due to shorter service life i.e. replacing the battery packs slightly more often.

Our Tracksafe Cabinet is engineered with sustainability in mind, offering a unique solution that minimizes environmental impact while maximising operational efficiency. How does it achieve this? Let’s delve into the details.

First and foremost, the Tracksafe Cabinet is designed for zero maintenance. By incorporating durable materials and advanced engineering, we’ve created a cabinet that requires no ongoing maintenance once installed. This means fewer service trips, reduced energy consumption, and ultimately, lower CO2 emissions associated with maintenance activities.

But that’s not all. The Tracksafe Cabinet is also installed fully populated, meaning it arrives at the site ready to go, with all equipment securely housed and integrated. This eliminates the need for additional transportation of components and reduces the carbon footprint associated with multiple deliveries and assembly processes. By minimising maintenance requirements and streamlining installation, the Tracksafe Cabinet enhances operational efficiency and significantly reduces CO2 emissions throughout its lifecycle.

In an industry where every decision counts, the Rainford Solutions Tracksafe Cabinet is leading the way towards a greener, more sustainable future for railway infrastructure.
